Safety & Security

Privacy without surveillance.

A safer, lighter app experience—and a binding product requirement for how MyLocalPost is built.

Unlike other social platforms, MyLocalPost does not spy on you.

We do not track your web browsing, build advertising profiles from what you buy, monitor where you go in the background, or profile who you talk to. We do not use invasive advertising cookies, pixels, or trackers. It is not that we do not care about our users; it is that we care enough about you to respect your privacy.

Privacy in everyday life

Your life stays yours.

Catch up on local news. Find a business. Join a conversation. Your community should be a place you can participate with confidence about how your personal information is used.

Explore what matters to you.

Follow local stories, events, and interests without MyLocalPost tracking the websites you visit elsewhere or building an advertising profile from your wider browsing history.

Find something local.

A restaurant special, a neighborhood event, or a nearby professional can be relevant because of the community you choose. Relevance does not require us to follow your movements or investigate your purchases.

Keep the focus on people.

Our privacy commitment covers conversations, too. We do not build advertising profiles from who you talk to. Information needed to deliver messages, respond to reports, and protect the service is covered by our Privacy Policy.

Your choices matter

You decide how you participate.

We are building MyLocalPost around clear choices about your audience, your phone, and your information. Sharing with your community should feel deliberate and comfortable.

Choose your circle.

Our group options will include public groups, private groups, and hidden groups that do not appear in discovery. A family conversation or a small circle of friends can have its own space.

Choose what your phone shares.

Protected features such as the camera, microphone, and location require your permission. Uploading a photo means choosing the file you want to share. You can manage permissions in your browser or device settings.

Have a say in your information.

You can contact CauseWork about access, correction, deletion, or portability of your information. The Privacy Policy explains applicable rights, verification, and retention requirements.

Read your privacy choices
A business model you can understand

Local businesses help make this possible.

Businesses pay for local visibility through fixed-price advertising plans. Geography, context, and preferences you choose help make that advertising relevant. Selling your personal information and tracking your life across other websites have no place in that model.

A business chooses its community.

It selects a local area or approved service territory for its advertising.

You discover a relevant offer.

The ad connects a business with the local community it wants to serve.

You choose what happens next.

Explore the offer or keep going. Your interest is your choice.

A useful local connection can start with a place and an interest. It does not need a dossier on your life.

Safety belongs here, too

Your peace of mind matters.

Privacy is part of feeling comfortable in a community. Clear rules, account protection, control over unwanted contact, and a way to ask for help belong alongside it.

Protect the space that is yours.

Our security commitment includes safeguards for account access, personal information, and the service itself. Authentication and abuse prevention support that work. If you suspect unauthorized account access, contact CauseWork promptly.

Have a way to act.

Blocking unwanted contact and reporting concerning content are part of our commitment for the app. You can also report scams, impersonation, harassment, or privacy concerns to CauseWork directly.

Clear boundaries protect people.

Threats, targeted harassment, stalking, scams, impersonation, and sharing someone’s private information without authority violate our rules. Pornography, adult sexual content, and exploitation are prohibited.

Read the Community Standards

Reports deserve context and care.

Reports may lead to review, warnings, content removal, account restrictions, suspension, or termination. Decisions consider the circumstances and severity. Where available, affected users can appeal.

How reporting and review work
The PWA advantage

Five ways MyLocalPost protects your phone, time, and privacy.

From a quick check on your phone to more time at your computer, the same account and privacy commitments belong with you. These everyday conveniences make room for the things you actually came to do.

1. Virtually no phone storage used

The benefit

MyLocalPost will not slow down your phone or consume the space demanded by a massive native social app.

How it works

The PWA loads from the web and keeps only a small amount of essential app code, session information, preferences, or notification credentials. Posts, messages, and profiles are not permanently stored on your device by default.

2. Complete freedom from app stores

The benefit

You never need the Apple App Store or Google Play Store—and you do not need an Apple or Google account to install it.

How it works

Visit MyLocalPost.app in a supported browser, choose Add to Home Screen or Install, and the real MyLocalPost icon appears without an app-store download.

3. Instant, automatic updates

The benefit

No update hunt, manual download, or app-store review delay.

How it works

When you open MyLocalPost while connected, it checks for the current web release and can refresh app files automatically in the background.

4. Built-in privacy and security

The benefit

The app cannot freely roam through your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or location.

How it works

MyLocalPost runs inside the browser's security sandbox. Protected phone features require a feature that needs them, a browser permission prompt, and your explicit choice.

5. Works across your devices

The benefit

Use the same service from a supported phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop without separate iPhone and Android editions.

How it works

The responsive interface uses the same account, current web release, core features, and privacy rules across supported devices.

The rule underneath everything

We use data to run and secure MyLocalPost—not to watch your life.

Limited account, content, device, browser, network, payment-reference, log, and security information may be processed only as reasonably needed to provide requested features, authenticate users, prevent fraud, maintain reliability, comply with law, and protect the service. MyLocalPost does not sell personal information or provide it to Apple, Google, or advertising networks for cross-site advertising.
